Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Would an upgrade to a surround sound processor that features eARC resolve this matter? Or would I also need to go with new TV that also features eARC compatibility? My suspicion is - that it is related to Dolby Atmos signal and ARC handshake? I have the Yamaha RX-A1080 and I bought it in January 2020, so it is almost 2 years old. It doesn't happen with Netflix, Prime, or Spectrum Cable. (I had recently also updated the firmware on my Yamaha RX-A1080.) I still get this very annoying issue with sound cutting out for half a second periodically throughout many programs. So far, I have switched HDMI cables, ensured cable ends are fit correctly, cleared memory cache, uninstalled HBO app, and updated my Android TV app. The sound cuts out for a second or a fraction of a second while watching shows on HBO Max. so far, ipad is working on 5g and can control yamaha, but samsung phone which is working at 5g can't connect to the yamaha unless i switch phone to 2.4g.weird.While playing HBO Max content, I get periodic sound cut-outs. i have 2 different names for 2.4 and 5g in my router.

I think yamaha/musiccast have problem on android side of simply don't know how to handle situation when phone is on router 5g since yamaha is working on 2.4g.ios seems to handle this situation better.

i solved problem by unplugging the wx-ad10 and plug it back, and it continues to work normally, phone on 5g and yamaha on 2.4g.but.Īfter big phone update same problem again, code 201 error, and musiccast app won't work if phone is not on 2.4g.i have tried unplug trick again, but with no luck.to make things worse mine ipad still works fine, ipad is still on 5g router frequency and it sees yamaha with no problems, musiccast app works?! since yamaha works on 2.4g it refuses to communicate with the phone while it's on 5g. I have similiar problem with yamaha wx-ad10 and android phone and dual band router. Hope this helps keep your sanity and enjoy multi room music. I see no reason why the WiFi dual band issue wouldn’t be the same for android, Spotify etc etc as other posts have mentioned. It took me and the dog to go for a walk to figure this out as it was really driving me crazy before. You might need to figure out how to get your WiFi router just offering 2GHz or how yo get your app devices to go to 2GHz connection each time. My iPad and iPhone connecting to WiFi have since defaulted to 2 GHz and can now see the MusicCast devices via the app every time. The fix was to login to the BT WiFi router admin (ip address usually on the back of the router) and find the setting to turn dual band off. BUT MusicCast is fixed on 2 GHz so if you strike it lucky your mobile device can see the music devices if it happens to connect on 2 GHz, but can’t see anything if iPad / phone connect on 5 GHz - hence the random disappearing act! Which channel the iPad / iPhone lands on each time they connect seems random, sometimes on the 5 other times on the 2.

The router connects WiFi on a 2GHz channel and also pushes out a 5GHz channel. My BT WIFI router is dual broadcast band (just like different radio stations in principle). I think I’ve sourced the problem and fixed it. It was driving me crazy having just invested in all the kit. Hi, I’ve had the issue of W010’s first being seen by the MusicCast app running on iPad and iPhone, and also an RX AV amp only to find that they intermittently disappear at next switch on and trying to reconnect any of them using the app wizard fails.
